Near Infrared Sauna Information

Sauna Fix Near Infrared Sauna Radiant Tent

Currently about 375,000 people per month search for “sauna” online versus about 2,000 people searching for "near infrared sauna." More people are learning about near infrared sauna therapy and purchasing this new type of sauna. The December 2016 Yoga Digest includes a two-page advertorial written by Eileen Durfee on the “Health Benefits of Near Infrared Sauna Therapy.” Yoga Digest went on the Jeff Rense radio show with Creatrix management on December 5, 2016 and discussed using near infrared saunas at home as an alternative to a hot yoga membership. Hot yoga participants complain about the smell of others’ sweat and would often prefer to perform the ritual in the sanctity of their own home.

On December 9, 2016, in Portland Oregon at the Green Festival with Jenn Bodnar from Yoga Digest, Eileen Durfee explains evolution of saunas and benefits of ion therapy for increased detoxification. Yoga Digest editors introduce the newest yoga experience demonstrating a portable hot yoga studio using near infrared [1].

A near infrared sauna uses safe heat lamp bulbs found at a food buffet and can be purchased at most hardware stores. Near infrared saunas produce 550-3400 nanometers of light, giving one frequencies that will reduce inflammation, pain and speed up healing and circulation. Laser treatments using some of these same frequencies can eliminate wrinkles and lift the skin.

Sauna Fix® is the only UL approved near infrared sauna in the United States. The Sauna Fix ^® tent eliminates pre-heating with R-12 insulated fire rated panels, maximizes phototherapy, and causes sweating much faster than other enclosures, including the previous R 4.5 radiant tent. Why Negative Ions

Negative ions are beneficial outside of a sauna, as they grab hold of particulates and throw them down to the floor. Plasma refers to the production of negative and positive ions, often in a 5:1 ratio. This combination has been shown to be more effective than generating strictly negative ions. The plasma not only helps purify the air, but affects surfaces, too. Plasma electrons repeatedly rob hydrogen molecules off of the protein surface of bacteria and other pathogens. Posture – Energy Expenditure of Standing Erect, Efficient Movement without Pain

Perfect Posture in Gravity The spinal column is a mechanical device with precise mathematical curves to provide for upright efficient movementwithin gravity. Humans spend their time working and playing with their trunks upright in Earth’s gravity most of the time. The spine’s musculo-skeletal system must expend energy to stay upright. There is a big cost to being upright where muscles work to hold up posture and joints strain to hold up posture. The least energy expended, the lease amount of muscle fatigue and the least amount of damaging strain on disc joints the better.

As a result of lack of training to develop the S-shaped spinal column, genetic defects, birth trauma, poor posture, repetitive motion, bad habits, injury, and aging, loss of spinal curves are common; as well as abnormal and incomplete development of the S shape curve. The resulting consequences are lack of athletic abilities and agility, stiffness, pain, decreased range of motion, disc degeneration, fatigue, and pinched nerves that detrimentally affect the whole human organism. The adaptation of the human body to any loss of curvature is to tighten up the muscles, mainly because the musculature action of the body is attempting to hold the head and body erect in an upright position. Sadly, anti-inflammatory medications and muscle relaxers are over-used, and some physical exercises don’t protect and restore spinal curvature and contribute to the progression of the root problem[i]. With continued movement vertebrae edges prematurely wear down, pinch nerves, cut off blood supply to discs and contribute to multiple conditions.

With spines curving, shoulders hunching and necks craning, humans spend an ever-increasing amount of time slumped over an array of computers, smartphones and gadgets. As the number of devices multiply, so do the number of aching necks, wrists and backs.[3]

Of the six billion people in the world, over four billion have mobile phones. Texting has become the dominant form of communication. Back pain is one of the most common reasons for missed work. In fact, back pain is the second most common reason for visits to the doctor’s office, outnumbered only by upper-respiratory infections.

One-half of all working Americans admit to having back pain symptoms each year.

Experts estimate that as much as 80% of the population will experience a back problem at some time in their lives.

Most cases of back pain are mechanical or non-organic—meaning they are not caused by serious conditions, such as inflammatory arthritis, infection, fracture or cancer.

Americans spend at least $50 billion each year on back pain—and that’s just for the more easily identified costs. The Wall Street Journal put the figure closer to $90 billion.

Alkalinizing Salt

The origins of Healthy Salt trace back to Oriental Folk remedies. For thousands of years, the method of removing toxins to enhance salt was secretly handed down for generations. Healthy Salt was not defined in scientific analysis, production methods, or application until recently.

(U.S.), and Murray River Gourmet Salt (Australia). The market players in gourmet salts continuously invest in R&D to introduce new products as per the market demand. This data from Markets and Markets is limited in applicability, as consumers of Healthy Salt ^TM have different motivations than purchasers of gourmet salt. Before Healthy Salt ^TM the most expensive salt in the world was Amethyst Bamboo 9x; it is prized in Korea and rumored to have anti-cancer and anti-viral properties. A 2.3-ounce jar of Amethyst Bamboo 9x costs $62.00, which is just slightly more than Healthy Salt ^TM.[9] Creatrix CEO Eileen Durfee experimented personally with Healthy Salt’s ^TM efficacy, going on and off in one-month intervals and using hair analysis to monitor the variations before deciding to market the product.

The average daily amount of salt consumption in the developed countries, such as the U.S., Canada, Australia, some European countries is around 3,592mg.[10] Out of this amount, 13% is estimated to be taken at the table or for cooking.[11] Global Market Insights, Inc. was reported on June 21, 2017 as stating the gourmet salt market will 120 kilo tons and be worth over $1.5 billion by 2024. The U.S. gourmet salts market was valued more than $217 million in 2016.[12] Globe Newswire stated:

Increasing consumer health consciousness along with shifting preference for low sodium saline are the key factors driving the gourmet salts market growth. High product usage for curing in beauty centers & spas for personal care treatments enhanced the product demand. Rising health issues including hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, and high blood pressure will fuel the product penetration.

Baja Gold Sea Salt

If this 13% is assumed to be gourmet salt, we consume about 1.1g of gourmet salt per day. The total value of salt sold or used was estimated to be about $2.0 billion.[13] The “Fortified Salts Market” was valued over $3.5 billion in 2016 and is set to cross 19.4 kilo tons by 2024. Growing malnutrition concerns among children and adults along with increasing demand for nutritious diet will drive fortified salts market growth. Rising health risks due to low consumption of iron, and iodine will fuel production penetration.

According to Dr Hendel, “Mineral salts are identical to the elements of which our bodies have been built and were originally found in the primal ocean from where life originated. We have salty tears and salty perspiration. The chemical and mineral composition of our blood and body fluids are similar to sea water. From the beginning of life, as unborn babies, we are encased in a sack of salty fluid.

“In water, salt dissolves into mineral ions,” explains Dr. Hendel. “These conduct electrical nerve impulses that drive muscle movement and thought processes. Just the simple act of drinking a glass of water requires millions of instructions that come from mineral ions. They’re also needed to balance pH levels in the body.”[14]

All sea water has the same complement of minerals in about the same ratio, so unless the minerals have been stripped away during processing (like in table salt), all salts will contain roughly the same 60-65 trace minerals.[15]

Certain trace minerals, such as zinc, magnesium, potassium, iron and calcium, are found in concentrations that are 10x-100x higher in sea salt than table salt, however they are still well below the daily recommended allowance. Skeptics cite this as reason to dismiss interest in mineral sea salt. What they fail to mention is bioavailability and rare earth elements such as Yttrium.

Most, if not all, organisms and tend to concentrate Yttrium in the liver, kidney, spleen, lungs, and bones of humans. Normally, as little as 0.5 milligrams is found in the entire human body; human breast milk contains 4 ppm. Some studies connect Yttrium to the health of gut flora.

Yttrium, found in Healthy Salt, is used by bifidobacteria longum, which is the number one material given through breast milk. It inoculates the intestinal tract, so the baby can absorb iodine, selenium and magnesium.[16]

While salt-induced hypertension is typically blamed as a cause of heart disease, a low salt intake is associated with higher mortality from cardiovascular events. A 2011 study in the Journal of the American Medical Association demonstrates a low-salt zone where stroke, heart attack and death are more likely.[17]

Ozone, Oxygen and Oxidation

The US ozone equipment market is estimated to be $361 million in 2016, and about 40% of the global market, which is growing at 8% and expected to be $1.2 billion in 2020.[18]

Water purified with ozone remains purified after the dissolved ozone has dissipated. When the water is still infused with ozone, it is considered by many to have health and healing benefits. Others disagree. However, with research one will notice the proponents are full of anecdotes on personal healing, while antagonists describe why they think it should not work.[19] Water is incapable of absorbing so much ozone with these consumer products that it would be harmful. Most ozonator products for consumers achieve 1.5 parts per million (PPM), which is well below the 5-20 PPM levels that may be harmful to humans.

Because ozone is unstable, the newly formed bond is only temporary and must be used or preserved no more than 20 minutes after creation to be most effective.

Ozonated water has a clean, fresh taste. This type of water has been shown in a number of scientific studies to kill bacteria and viruses. It has proven effective in killing E. coli, yeast, salmonella and listeria. The biological benefits are a result of the ozone breaking apart creating a single oxygen cell. According to Leaf.TV.

Benefits of drinking Ozonated Water

Drinking ozonated water increases energy level. It speeds extra oxygen into the body. But the effectiveness of ozonated water is not limited to drinking. Bathing in ozonated water is great therapy for skin disorders. It can be used to treat muscle soreness, spinal and back injuries and neck stiffness.[20]

While these types of claims are made in the media, Creatrix never states that its ozonators can be used to treat any medical condition. For instance, Oxygen Healing Therapies states, “Ozonated water is used topically as a healing and antibacterial / antifungal agent, on burns, scrapes, bruises, in dentistry, surgery, and many other applications” such as cleaning food at 1.5PPM.[21]

Ozone does not act as a systemic poison to microorganisms, but rather, destroys them by oxidation. Consequently, it is impossible for a microorganism to build up any resistance.

Ozone therapy and ozone generators are commonly used by physicians in Europe, Asia and other countries around the world; however, it is unapproved for medical treatment in the United States of America. Ozone continues to gain an increase in interest among the medical community today, due to an abundance of scientific research studies. Research on ozone therapy has been conducted for many health conditions that relate to inflammation, cancer, diabetes, and more. The reason ozone is considered so beneficial is because of the breakdown and elimination of toxic compounds through the oxidation process. It has the capability to destroy fungus and microorganisms in a method they can’t adapt to like anti-bacterial soap. The goal of drinking ozonated water is to introduce oxygen into the body so that the body is able to better function and replace dead cells with fresh, healthy cells. The ozone water used for cleaning is the same concentration for drinking because it only oxidizes damaged cells and viruses without an enzyme sheathe.

How Ozone Is Selective in Oxidation and Won’t Damage The Body

Atoms normally contain an even number of paired electrons. During chemical reactions, electrons become unpaired momentarily, allowing the reaction to occur. If for some reason an electron becomes separated, it causes an imbalance and becomes one free radical. The unbalanced free radical can damage cells that do not have sufficient enzyme coatings.

Healthy cells have an enzyme coating around them, which they produce. This coating protects them from free radicals or the action of oxygen. O ₃ distinguishes between friend and foe by design, and attacks only invading pathogens and damaged or infected cells.

Oxygen starvation at the cellular level is what causes cells to be too weak to manufacture the enzymes that protect them. The oxygen starved cells are vulnerable to invasion by the always present viruses and pathogens.

Ozone will attack microbes that have no enzyme coating, as well as diseased cells with deficient cell wall enzymes.

The properties of free radicals vary widely. Some are toxic to all living cells, others only to the most vulnerable cells. Single oxygen molecules are highly reactive beneficial free radicals that act as scavengers of other harmful free radicals. The oxygen combines with them to render them harmless, thereby protecting cells from damage.[22]

Ozone has a powerful sanitizing and oxidizing effect and leaves no toxic residue behind. The potency of the molecule of ozone equalizes to 3000 to 10,000 molecules of chlorine. Thus, it is 3500 times more pathogenic to microbes, with no side effects of chlorine.

Ozone and Herbicides

Ozone can oxidize and degrade herbicides. Atrazine is a stubborn and dangerous herbicide that ozone has a useful effect against. Its effects persist in drinking water nationwide, and it was the most heavily used herbicide in the United States before 1993.[23] Glyphosate is among the most widely used chemicals on our food crops. Microbiologist Bruce Hemming’s lab testing found residues of the herbicide glyphosate in samples of breast milk, honey, cereal, wheat flour, soy sauce, infant formula, and other substances. Several studies havelinkedglyphosate to human health ailments, including non-Hodgkin lymphoma and kidney and liver problems, and because glyphosate is so pervasive in the environment, even trace amounts can be harmful and disrupt endocrine and/or reproductive systems.[24]

According to the Mayo Clinic, the reduction in pesticide exposure is a major reason to consider choosing organic food.[25]

Nearly three-fourths of the 6,953 produce samples tested by the U.S. Department of Agriculture in 2014 contained pesticide residues.

The 2016 update of EWG's Shopper's Guide to Pesticides in Produce™ reports that USDA tests found a total of 146 different pesticides on thousands of fruit and vegetable samples examined in 2014.

More than 98 percent of strawberry samples, peaches, nectarines, and apples tested positive for at least one pesticide residue.

A single grape sample and a sweet bell pepper sample contained 15 pesticides.

Single samples of strawberries showed 17 different pesticides.[26]

Ozone can kill a variety of microbes with a small dose and residual. Many factors determine the residual, but generally, the higher the ozone production, the higher the residual and the longer it will last in the water. The required residual is dictated by the amount and type of microbes to be killed. When ozone degrades, it reverts back to oxygen.

Ozone oxidizes the organic material in bacterial membranes, which weakens the cell wall and leads to cellular rupture. This exposes the organism to the external environment, which causes almost immediate death of the cell.
Ozone can effectively kill bacteria as well as Giardia, Cryptosporidium, parasites, fungi, molds and other microbes. The ozonation standard for killing most organisms is to maintain 0.3 ppm for a three-minute contact time. The dosage and contact time can vary.

Research indicated water containing ozone at levels of 2.0 PPM or higher can kill bacteria at sufficient levels within 1 second of contact time.[27] This research also showed that higher levels of ozone dissolved into water did not achieve any better bacteria reduction, or faster bacteria reduction.[28] The Company’s current ozonators achieve 1.49 PPM in a 300 ml container after 10 minutes, with 2.0 PPM prototypes under development[29]

Ozone and Cell Lysing

Ozone destroys algae, viruses, bacteria, and fungi from the inside out - through a biological process called cell lysing.[30]

Cell lysing is the destruction of a cell by rupturing the cell walls. Ozone dispenses the cell’s cytoplasm and makes reactivation impossible.It can kill bacteria without harmful chemicals.

Cell lysing is the most powerful method of destroying bacteria.[31]

One of the best features of ozone is its ability to control diseases and odors by destroying the offending organisms. By eliminating microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, mold, fungi and algae, ozone keeps the environment safe and pleasant.

Destruction of E-Coli by Ozone

As an environmentally friendly disinfectant, ozone now is being studied as an alternative to chlorine sanitizers in many segments of the food industry. Ozone-enriched water kills microbes as effectively as chlorine, and since it is generated on-site its use eliminates the need for personnel to handle, mix and dispose of harsh chemicals for sanitation. Further, since ozone readily reverts to oxygen, an end-product that leaves no residue on contact surfaces. Ozone-enriched water can be sprayed directly on floors, drains, walls, wettable equipment, tanks (externally and internally), and clean rooms via mobile or centralized systems with hand-held or drop-down, low-pressure sprayers.

In response to a Food Additive Petition submitted during August 2000, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) formally approved the use of ozone as an “Antimicrobial Agent for the Treatment, Storage and Processing of Foods in Gas and Aqueous Phases.”[32]
